Words from Greenwize Owner Scott Kaufmann:

Hello. Thank you for stopping on my website. Every day I see all kinds of things in my industry that stupefy me. Here are a few I'd like to share.

1. A company quoting potential clients lawns by using a satellite. (I come out personally, walk the lawn, analyse what I see and give a Free Quote. Letting a person know what is going on in their lawn and meeting them face to face and shaking their hand is very important to me.)

2. Seeing where a big franchise company is trying to get new clients by offering a low first application fee. What does that mean for the price of the other visits? Throwing down some lime that might not be needed is stupid. (This is why my technicians take a Soil Sample at the first visit to determine what amendments are needed. If the lawn needs amendments they are applied as a service included in the price and the client is informed as to what was needed and applied)

3. Hearing from new clients that have fired their old lawn care company that their lawn was diagnosed with a disease or insect and they were billed for the treatment. Now the price they agreed on with the salesman on the phone for lawn care is null and void. If everything a lawn may need is not included then how can you agree on a price? Many things can arise in a year in a lawn. Mother Nature can send problems that need treatment. (This is why I have a 1 Flat Fee All Inclusive Program for my lawn care clients. If it occurs it is covered.)

4. My biggest pet peeve is a lawn care company spending so much time getting new clients and not taking care of the clients they already have. So many companies force their technicians to sell while they are out during the day. Some have quotas and a "don't return to the office until you have signed up a certain amount of people" philosophy. How can the techs have time to do what is needed in the current client's lawns if they are worrying about quotas? (Greenwize technicians are salaried professionals who only service the lawns. No fly by night hourly employees. 2 of my technicians are former assistant golf course superintendents who both hold a 2 year Turf Grass Management Degree from Horry-Georgetown College. 1 technician has his SC Pesticide Applicators License, as do I. I personally train all technicians. I have my Turf Grass Management Degree from the University of Georgia and I am the only salesman in the group. You will see the difference in our professionalism, our service and dedication and in the health of your lawn.
